ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS (LATEST MODEL WITH EASY SINGLE LEVER)
STEP 1: SEAT BASE ADJUSTMENT (H. Seat Height and Depth Adjustment)
Seat Height Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Pull up the single lever control and hold it while raising or lowering the seat to change the seat height.
When the lever is released, the seat height is locked.
Tip: While adjusting rest your body weight on the seat when lowering the seat height.
Lift your body weight off the seat when raising the seat height.
Since an incorrect seat-height contributes to back’s fatigue,
it is recommended that the angle of the knees is slightly less than 90°
and that the feet are levelled with the floor.
Seat Depth Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Push the single lever control forward to adjust the seat depth by sliding the seat forward and backward (The approximate range is 1.97′).
Return the lever to the original middle position, the position will be fixed.
Ideal seat-depth is achieved when
– the thighs are on the seat and fully supported with the right seat depth.
– the lumbar area is in contact with the backrest of the chair (the back is supported by the flexible lumbar support)
– and the back of the knees do not touch the edge of the seat. (important for good blood flow behind the knee and legs)
STEP 2: BACKREST ADJUSTMENTS (C & B, tilt angle, tilt tension & height adjustments)
Backrest Tilt Angle Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Pull the single lever control completely backward and lean against the backrest until a desired angle is achieved, and then return the lever to its original middle position to lock the back at an ideal angle.
There are 4 positions with a 25° range. (upright, slight recline, mid recline and fully reclined)
The proper backrest angle can reduce the pressure on the spine.
Example of working activities:
– Upright position: desk/computer work
– Slight recline: desk/computer work, phone conversation, design, brain-storming
– Mid Recline: phone conversation, meetings, watching Powerpoint presentations or Showreels, reading documents.
– Full Recline: phone conversation, watching Powerpoint presentations or Showreals, reading documents.
Note: if the chair has the Legrest and Notebook arm attachment, computer work can be performed in full recline.
Backrest Quick or Slight Tilt Tension Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
This adjustment is to fine tune the tension of the chair when used in free-float
Free-float means the chair will rock back and forth with the user rather than being locked into a fixed position.
In this case the seat angle will automatically tilt with the back angle when the user reclines back and forth.
However the tension needs to be adjusted to suit the user weight.
Typically a heavy weight user would need more tension and a light weight user would need less tension.
This sets how strongly the backrest will push against the back of the user to give the right amount of support.
ADJUST: On the rotating wheel handle, pull the Lever outwards.
This will open the Tilt Tension Adjustment Handle:
turn it forward or backward into a desired tension for quick tilt tension adjustment
or close the handle and turn it forward or backward for slight tilt tension adjustment,
and then close the handle and push the lever inwards to the original position to fix/lock it.
The synchro mechanism is ergonomically designed to enhance comfort and reduce strain.
The back-to-seat adjustment/tilt is 3:1 ratio.
Tip: The backrest should give you comfortable support:
– if you feel the backrest is pushing against your back too firmly, reduce the tension.
– If you feel the backrest is too loose then you need to increase the tension.
Backrest Height Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Hold the two sides of the backrest handles, and slide the backrest up or down, and release the handles in the holes. There is a range of adjustments of 1.57′.
Lumbar Support Height Adjustment
Note that the height of lumbar support can also be adjusted by adjusting the backrest height.
Find the most suitable height of the lumbar support that provides the best comfort to the back of the user.
STEP 3 : ARMRESTS HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT (G)
Armrest Height Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Press the armrest height adjustment buttons to raise or lower the armrests.
There are 8 positions with a 3.15′ range.
Tip: the armrests are on a ratchet, to lower them simply go to the highest level and the armrest will easily go down.
Recommended armrest position:
Allow arms to rest comfortably on the armrest at a 90° angle while the armrest is 1″ higher than the elbow.
STEP 4 : ARMPADS ANGLE, WIDTH & FORWARD / BACKWARD ADJUSTMENT (D, E, F)
Arm Pad Angle Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Hold the front of the armpads and swivel them in an inward or outward position (diagonal).
Arm Pad Angle Adjustment: A range of 9° can be achieved by swiveling the arm pads inwards.
Tip: The best angle could be reached when the arms can rest naturally on the arm pads while working.
Arm Pad Width Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Width Adjustment: hold and push the arm pads outwards or inwards into a desired width of the arms.
There is a total range of adjustments of 1.57′.
Arm Pad Forward and Backward Adjustment (B4) – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Forward and Backward Adjustment:
Push the arm pads forward or backward to a desired position.
The range of adjustments is about 1.57″,
STEP 5 : HEADREST ADJUSTMENT (A, headrest height and headrest angle adjustment)
Headrest Height Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Hold the handle of the headrest to adjust the height,
there are 6 positions with a 40mm range of adjustability.
Tip: The most suitable height could be achieved when one’s neck is fully supported by the headrest.
Headrest Angle Adjustment – ERGOHUMAN CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUST: Hold the headrest cushion/mesh to adjust the angle of the headrest. It is 30° adjustable.
Tip: The best angle could be reached when one could move the neck naturally.
FINAL STEP
Now that the set-up is complete, one can roll the chair to the desk.
The chairs’ armrests should be at the same level as one’s desktop alternatively slightly below to slide under the desk.
A standard desk height is 72cm high but some desks are slightly higher.
If the armrests are much lower than the desk, increase the seat height.
If ones’ feet are no longer flat on the ground, you will need a footrest to compensate.
